Anthony (Tony) Tartaglio is an attorney at Gomerman | Bourn & Associates, dedicated to obtaining justice for workers whose rights have been violated in the workplace. Since joining the firm in January 2024, he has applied his experience from both private practice and government service to achieve meaningful results for his clients.
Tony began his legal career in 2012, bringing a thoughtful and steady approach to complex cases. He practiced at two leading international law firms, Orrick and Paul Hastings, where he focused on high-technology disputes. He later served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California for more than five years, gaining extensive experience in matters involving government entities and public accountability.
Throughout his career, Tony has litigated high-stakes cases in both federal and state courts across California, including a successful argument before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Abshire v. Newsom (21-16442), where all three judges agreed with his arguments. He has represented clients in cases involving wrongful death, excessive force, retaliation, religious discrimination, improper medical treatment cases, and many other types of matters.
In his employment law work on Ramirez v. City of Livingston, Tony represented a former city manager who blew the whistle on corruption within city hall. He was successful in securing his client’s reinstatement.
Tony earned his Juris Doctor from UC Hastings College of the Law, graduating magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, ranked 18th out of 411 (top 5% of his class). He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, where he was a National Merit Scholar and member of the Eta Kappa Nu electrical engineering honors society.
Known for his analytical precision and command of complex facts, Tony works closely with clients to ensure they understand their rights and can make informed decisions throughout the legal process. He is also proficient in Spanish and has used his language skills to advocate for Spanish-speaking clients in multiple cases.
