Tis the holiday season yet again. Many of us will be hitting the road to shop for gifts, visit family and friends, or go on a holiday vacation. We would like to encourage everyone to be extra careful when traveling at this time of year.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there are more car crash fatalities during the holidays which is associated with increased traffic, travel time, more alcohol consumption, and excessive driving speed. For example, in 2017, there were 119 car crash-related fatalities per day during the major holidays compared to 102 per day during non-holidays.
